Alan Tudyk has been cast to narrate and voice the character of an “old surf bum” for the half hour pilot of the animation series “Good Vibes”. The series pilot was picked up by Fox in September and table readings for the show are expected to take place in November with screening considered for the Spring.
“Good Vibes” is based around two high school surfers living near the beach in California. Other actors lending their voices to the series include: Josh Gad [Back to You], Adam Brody [The OC], Debi Mazar [Entourage], Olivia Thirlby [New York I Love You], and Jake Busey [Broken].
20th Century Fox TV is producing “Good Vibes” which is written by David Gordon Green [Pineapple Express] and animated by “The Simpsons” artist Brad Ableson.
Alan Tudyk is the latest guest to be added to the Dragon*Con lineup.
Dragon*Con 2008 will be held Labor Day weekend (August 29 - September 1, 2008) in Atlanta, GA.
Alan will join fellow Firefly cast mates Nathan Fillion, Jewel Staite and Morena Baccarin. Adam Baldwin had been scheduled to attend but had to cancel due to work commitments. Many other guests will also be attending.

Chances are if you?re visiting this website it?s because you?re a fan of Alan Tudyk. Right now you have the opportunity to buy a comic personally autographed by Alan Tudyk himself in support of the I Am A Softwire campaign established to combat industry statements like ?Science fiction is dead? and ?Kids don?t read science fiction?. Of course, many people believe these kinds of statements are completely inaccurate so the group has set up to try and raise awareness of the issue and support the future of Sci-Fi novels.
So, if you agree with Alan Tudyk that Science Fiction is NOT dead, and that Kids are eager to read Science Fiction books if they?re actually made available to them, then do yourself a favour and pick up one of these autographed comics from the I Am A Softwire group on Ebay.? These comics are selling at the bargain price of just $16.50!? To buy an autograph from Alan at a convention usually costs $30.

HE arrival of actor Alan Tudyk in Brisbane couldn’t have come at a better time for a charity movie screening, even if he is leaving a few hours early…
… Brisbane Can’t Stop the Serenity organiser Andrew Lunt says the international event is held on or about Whedon’s birthday. “In the past two years, these events have raised a total of over $US160,000 US for Equality Now. Our aim this year is to achieve $150,000 for the charity, with screenings held in more than 50 cities worldwide.
“This is the first year that a CSTS event has been run in Brisbane. We have been very lucky that Alan is making an appearance at Gen Con Oz on the weekend of the event ? Browncoats are flying in interstate to see him, and scheduling to get to the CSTS screening before they head out again.”
“Alan isn’t going to be able to make it out to the CSTS screening ? he has to fly back Sunday afternoon. But apparently he’ll autograph some stuff for us to put up as prizes in the raffle, which is a great compromise.”
…Brisbane’s Can’t Stop the Serenity event will be held at the Eldorado Cinema in Indooroopilly on Sunday July 6 at 6.45pm.

On the plus side, Gen Con? Australia and Hub Productions have been working furiously to find replacements for the show. And replacements we have found in the appearance of two awesome guests namely Paul “Carson Beckett” McGillion from Stargate Atlantis and Alan “Wash” Tudyk from Serenity/Firefly.

Reports are starting to find their way to the internet from members of the live audience present for the filming of the still unnamed pilot.? The filming took five hours and all the audience seats were filled.? Thanks to Joss’d for this report - link to full review below.
…I don?t want to spoil the pilot for anyone who is interested in watching, but it (not surprisingly) feels a lot like Will & Grace.? Even though I haven?t watched a lot of that show, the feel is very Will & Grace-y. I do like Josh and Alan together, I think they play off each other well and you do feel like these two characters are very good friends. Alan seemed (to biased old me) to steal the show with his performances. I was reminded again what a FACIAL actor he is. His body language speaks volumes and many times the larger laughs were because of his expressions (without dialogue)…
…Now, to Alan?s wardrobe. It really suited his body type, his hair and his eyes. I really like Alan in the more professional attire, which he wears throughout this episode. I particularly like his first wardrobe which was a blue shirt that really brought out his eyes. I?ve never noticed that Alan has great eyes until I saw him in that shirt (and, least you think I?m a raving Tudyk fangirl, I really am not - I just really liked that shirt).
Alan likes to run through his lines right before the director starts the scene. I watched him several times as he was running through and he also tries out different emphasizes and different facial expressions as he goes through them.
I think Alan?s character (Drew) had some of the best lines…
If you ordered audience tickets for the filming of Alan Tudyk’s new pilot this Wednesday you should have received an email from Warner Bros stating that there has been a date change.? In case you didn’t, please be aware that the filming has been delayed by a day and will now be on Thursday 19th instead of Wed 18th.
